Because we often handle bookings directly, our bands are more affordable than many wedding and special-event bands. We occasionally book larger events through local talent agencies. Our quotes are also often below the national average for wedding bands.

To reserve a date, we require a signed contract and a 50% deposit. Quotes generally range from $2,500 to $8,000 or more, depending on travel, equipment, production needs, special-song requests, and other event details. A live band will not usually cost less than a DJ, but it brings the energy, interaction, and spontaneity of a live performance.

1. Which band would you like to book, and what configuration would you prefer—a five-piece lineup as shown in our videos, a four-piece lineup without the female vocalist, a six-piece lineup with saxophone, or another configuration?
2. What is the date of the event?
3. What is the venue’s name and address, and what is the approximate size of the event space?
4. Would the event require travel and/or an overnight stay from Nashville?
5. Would you like us to provide sound equipment, and how large is the event space?
6. Would you like us to provide stage lighting?
7. Would you like us to learn songs outside our standard repertoire? If so, how many?
8. How long would you like us to perform, and during what hours?
9. Would you like us to emcee the reception and/or provide recorded music between live sets?

Our core rhythm section has performed together for more than 20 years. Each band features a different female vocalist. Bueller focuses on music from the 1970s through the 1990s, with an emphasis on the 1980s. Party of 5 offers a broader variety of music, ranging from the 1960s through today’s Top 40.

Every member of our standard five-piece lineup sings lead vocals, so you get five vocalists and five instrumentalists for the price of a five-piece band. That variety keeps the show fresh throughout the night. We can add a saxophonist or a full horn section for an additional fee, and we can pare the band down to four members without the female vocalist for smaller events.

Versatility matters. A strong wedding band should offer a broad repertoire, perform comfortably at different volume levels throughout the reception, and provide announcements or emcee support when needed.

Reliability and stability matter, too. Look for a band whose members have worked together consistently. Ask where they have performed, request references, read reviews on established platforms such as WeddingWire, and see the band live whenever possible. A polished website video is useful, but it should not be your only point of reference.

A DJ plays prerecorded music, which can be a good fit for some events, but it cannot fully recreate the physical impact and spontaneity of real instruments. The natural attack and dynamics of live drums, bass, guitars, and vocals create energy that guests feel as well as hear. A live band also reads the room, interacts with the crowd, and builds momentum in real time. That shared experience keeps guests engaged, on the dance floor, and in the room throughout the night.

An experienced wedding band understands the flow of a reception and knows how to coordinate with the planner, photographer, videographer, and venue. Before a cake cutting or special dance, for example, the band should make sure the right professionals are in position. Careful coordination lets the couple relax while each part of the evening moves smoothly into the next.

A 10-piece band does not automatically sound larger or better than a five-piece band. Talented musicians who work well together can create a remarkably full sound. The sound system’s quality and power—not simply the number of musicians—determine whether the performance will fill a venue.

Make sure the band you hire performs regularly and is not simply a website brand assembled from rotating musicians. Some companies operate several units under one band name, so confirm which performers will appear at your event. Whenever possible, see the actual band live before making your choice.

During a four-hour event, we typically perform three or four sets with two or three 10-minute breaks. These short breaks allow the musicians to rest their hands and voices and use the restroom. We play recorded dance music during breaks so the party keeps moving.

Do not book solely from a promotional video or website. Ask for recommendations, read independent reviews, confirm who will perform, and see the band live if you can. With advance notice, we are happy to help arrange an opportunity to see one of our bands perform.
